    Meet The Doctors & The Staff

    Paul VanRaaphorst, DDS, MS, PC

    After graduating in 1983 from The University of Michigan, practiced general dentistry for four years, in Petoskey and in Saginaw. He then returned to The U of M to earn a masters degree in Periodontology. Since 1991, Dr. VanRaaphorst has been serving patients in the greater Rochester area . To keep current with the latest methods, he typically attends seven to ten continuing education seminars per year.

    Dr. VanRaaphorst is the past president of The Russell B. Bunting Periodontal Study Club. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology,  Midwest Society of Periodontology and the Academy of Osseointegration, and is the current Vice President of the Michigan Periodontal Association. He has helped form a local inter-disciplinary study club with several of the area's prominent dentists. He and his staff also host a Hygiene Study Club to promote continuing education for local hygienists.   He is also a member and proud supporter of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. 

    Dr. VanRaaphorst lives in the Rochester area along with his wife and has two children in college. During his time away from the office, Dr. VanRaaphorst can be found on either his mountain bike or his road bike.

     

    Michael R. Ramos, DDS, MS

     
    Dr. Ramos is our new associate. A native of Troy, MI, Dr. Ramos graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a masters degree is Periodontology in 2010. Prior to his graduate work, Dr. Ramos practiced general dentistry for two years. He is  a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, Michigan Periodontal Association, Midwest Society of Periodontology  and Macomb's Young Dentists.   Dr. Ramos recently earned Diplomat status with the American Academy of Periodontology. A Diplomat is a Periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty. Nationally only 33% of Periodontists are board certified. Dr. Ramos and his wife, MareLeiz are proud parents of a new baby boy.  
     
     
     

     

    Our Staff

    Our staff is committed to making your visit as pleasant, stress free and beneficial as possible. Sally, Shawna and Lesa are at the front desk. They greet you, make sure you are comfortable and schedule your appointments. Anna helps you with any questions you may have regarding your dental insurance or billing statements. Robin keeps the office running smoothly.

    Anne, Michele and Diana are our hygienists. Together they have an average of 25 years of experience working with periodontal patients (they started young)! They are knowledgeable, kind, gentle and thorough.

    Nancy Jo, Nancy, Anjuli, Laura and Ruth are our surgical assistants. They work with Dr. VanRaaphorst, Dr. Ramos and our hygienists to ensure you have the best treatment possible.
